Junior Product Designer

Join a remote-first Product team focused on creating intuitive digital experiences for customers managing a global workforce. You'll contribute across the full product design lifecycle, from early concepts and user flows to polished interfaces and shipped experiences. Working closely with product managers, engineers, and operations teams, you'll turn real user problems into simple, effective solutions. You'll help evolve a growing design system while gaining hands-on experience with scalable product design practices. The role combines mentorship with meaningful ownership, making it well suited to someone building their career in product or UX design. You'll have the opportunity to work on complex B2B workflows and transform them into clear, approachable user experiences. Strong design thinking and portfolio quality are valued more than a specific number of years of professional experience.

Accountabilities

• Design user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity user interfaces for new and existing product features.
• Take design concepts from early exploration through implementation and final shipped experiences.
• Contribute to and maintain the product design system in Figma, ensuring components, patterns, and interactions remain consistent as the platform evolves.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers throughout the development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through implementation and quality assurance.
• Conduct lightweight user research and usability checks to understand user needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Incorporate user and stakeholder feedback into iterative design solutions.
• Create polished, developer-ready designs and specifications that clearly communicate intended interactions and visual details.
• Stay involved during implementation to answer questions, resolve design ambiguities, and help maintain design quality.
• Translate complex workflows, including multi-entity onboarding and payroll-related processes, into intuitive and easy-to-use interfaces.
• Contribute ideas and design perspectives that help improve the overall product experience.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio demonstrating product and UX design thinking, including the design process, problem-solving approach, and final outcomes.
• Proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, components, and design systems.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, interaction design, and usability fundamentals.
• Ability to clearly communicate design decisions, explain trade-offs, and incorporate constructive feedback.
• Strong attention to detail and an interest in creating consistent, polished user experiences.
• Comfortable working independently and asynchronously within a distributed, remote-first team.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with product, engineering, and operational stakeholders.
• Curiosity about B2B or SaaS products, payroll, HR technology, or workforce management is a plus but not required.
• Recent graduates, bootcamp graduates, self-taught designers, and candidates at other early stages of their design careers are welcome to apply.
• A proactive, curious mindset with a willingness to learn, seek feedback, and take increasing ownership of design work.
